Legal & Policies
These operating policies describe the current Evans News site and how to contact the desk. We will date material changes. The public pages and technology must be reviewed together before new forms, analytics or advertising tools launch.
Ownership & Funding
Golden Eagle Studios LLC is currently recorded as the creator and publisher of Evans News. The corporate and intellectual-property chain of title remains subject to formal legal review. Any material ownership or funding relationship relevant to a story should be disclosed in context. We do not describe a prospective sponsor as an actual partner.
Editorial Standards
Evans News separates reporting, analysis, opinion, advertising and sponsored material. We identify primary documents and dates where useful, check claims before publication, seek response for consequential allegations, and distinguish proposals and approvals from completed projects. Public safety coverage protects private individuals. Coverage of elections applies comparable sourcing and labeling standards across candidates; an endorsement is never presented as news.
Corrections
Send the article URL, the disputed passage and supporting evidence to the desk. We will review it and, when a substantive error is established, correct the page with a dated note. A developing story may be updated with an explanation of material changes.
Ethics & Conflicts
Editorial decisions must be made without campaign donor data, campaign strategy or political targeting information. A material publisher, contributor or affiliate conflict should be disclosed near relevant coverage. The editor may hold, revise or decline copy under the editorial rules. Gifts or financial interests that could affect coverage require disclosure and review.
Advertising & Sponsored Content
Paid placements will be labeled “Advertisement”; paid editorial-style material will be labeled “Sponsored Content” and identify the sponsor. Payment does not buy an editorial conclusion. No unmarked paid placement or behavioral advertising pixel is currently authorized by this policy.
Privacy
This static site does not presently run Evans News audience analytics or a public visit counter. The weekly puzzle can keep a result in your browser’s local storage; clearing browser data removes it. The hosting service may process ordinary request data, such as IP address and browser information, to deliver and secure pages under its own infrastructure. Weather content may be requested from an outside provider; opening external source links takes you to those sites. Email links open your own mail application. If you send a tip, job inquiry or contest entry by email, the message and any information you include are received in the newsroom mailbox and reviewed manually. Do not send sensitive private information about minors or third parties unnecessarily. We retain correspondence only as needed for editorial, operational and legal purposes; a formal schedule is under development. Request access, correction or deletion by emailing the desk, subject to necessary record preservation.
Terms of Use
Use this publication for lawful reading and sharing by link. Do not interfere with the site, submit unlawful material or falsely represent another person. Links to government, schools, businesses and other sources are offered for context; their content and availability can change. Evans News summaries are not official public notices, legal advice or emergency instructions. For emergencies call 911.
Copyright & IP
Original Evans News text, design and other original materials are subject to the publisher’s rights and any applicable contributor agreements. Third-party documents, quotations, photographs and linked materials remain with their respective rights holders. Share links and brief attributed excerpts; request permission for reuse of substantial original material at the desk.
Accessibility
We aim to keep pages navigable by keyboard, readable at mobile sizes and usable with assistive technology. Report a barrier with the page URL and device or browser to the desk; we will work on an accessible alternative and a fix.
Contests & Promotions
Each contest has its own dated rules, eligibility, entry method, moderation and rights language. We will identify any prize or sponsor only after confirmation. See the Scarecrow Contest rules. We may reject unsafe, unlawful or misrepresented entries and document corrections.
News Tips / Reader Submissions
Send tips, event leads, sports information, business openings or corrections to the desk. Explain what can be attributed and what needs a private conversation. Sending material does not guarantee publication, payment or confidentiality. Do not send material you lack the right to share. We verify before publication and seek permission where needed.
Non-affiliation with the Town of Evans
Evans News is a publication, not an agency of the Town of Evans. For official decisions, payment deadlines, public notices and emergency guidance, follow the linked government or district record.
